Thank you for your interest in volunteering!

There are four volunteering categories that are ideal for energetic and responsible students, mid-career professionals and older adults. Join us for an opportunity to help the Boys & Girls Clubs of Durham and Orange Counties expand and improve its services.

URGENT NEEDS:

Knowledge Builders Tutoring Program
We need volunteers to work one-on-one with students who are struggling in core classes (math, science, social studies, English/language arts). To be a Knowledge Builder volunteer, you will need to commit to at least one hour per week and maintain a consistent schedule. You will be paired with a student based on your professional/academic qualifications. Students range in ages from 6-15.

Classroom Volunteers

We need people in the classrooms helping our teachers with various lessons, programs, and activities. We need consistent volunteers each week for classroom assistance. If you and/or your friends are interested in volunteering, please contact Kelley Seebeck at kseebeck@bgcdoc.org or 919-687-4517.

Private Tutors

We welcome tutors to assist with subjects ranging from beginning levels of math/reading/science to advanced high school levels. Tutors will be paired with a child who has received a C, D, or F in a core subject. We ask that tutors maintain a consistent schedule and volunteer at least once a week for an hour.

Group Projects

We can accommodate groups small and large to help with building-related projects (painting, cleaning, organizing) and special events for the kids (field days, health fairs, presentations, etc).  If you have a group of friends and/or coworkers that are available Monday-Friday to complete a project, please contact Kelley Seebeck at kseebeck@bgcdoc.org or 919-687-4517.
